“Hanami” in Japanese, refers to “cherry blossom viewing” or the centuries-old practice of enjoying a picnic, party, or stroll under the cherry trees as they are in bloom. An explosion of pink all across Kyoto, this town is transformed into a dreamy wonderland- but just for a short time.

In this virtual Hanami experience we will:

• Visit one of the most well known sakura spots in all of Kyoto- with hardly anyone else around.

• Spend sakura moments in several secluded local shrines.

• Walk under the sakura and weeping willows at a temple oasis in the middle of the busy downtown.

• Stroll a sprawling garden filled with sakura, ponds and mesmerizing pine trees.

Even though the borders of Japan are still firmly closed, you can enjoy special access to Kyoto’s sakura as if you are actually here. The sakura never cease to inspire, and at the end of this online experience you will feel invigorated and ready to start spring!
